Cosmetic Dentistry

Any dental procedure which improves the appearance of a patient’s smile is considered cosmetic, including whitening, veneers, white fillings, crowns, bridges and clear braces.

Teeth Whitening:
Whitening gel is applied onto teeth, and penetrates their outer layers, causing them to become whiter in color. The patient may experience sensitivity following the treatment, which is easily overcome by using desensitizing agents.
There are two types of Teeth Whitening procedures: office bleaching (using blue-rays, ultraviolet rays or laser) and home bleaching (using gels).

Laminate Veneers:
Tooth-colored and tooth-shaped plates are placed onto front teeth to reshape and lengthen teeth, as well as close unwanted spaces between teeth and cover stains. They eliminate the need of crowns to repair misshaped teeth.
A direct laminate is made of composite, while the indirect laminate is made of porcelain or zirconium.

Polishing:
Stains from cigarettes, tea, coffee and any colored food may cause staining of the teeth. Said stains may be removed using special rotary brushes and paste or powdered water sprays, to allow recovering the natural teeth color.
