Pulp Inflammation

Causes:
• Decayed deep cavities and deep fractures.
• Harmful, contaminated substances may reach pulp tissues during deep cavity fillings.
• Removal of old fillings, especially amalgam, results in tooth overheating and subsequent pulp inflammation.
• If the dentist prepares the tooth for a crown or for a filling without sufficient cooling, overheating may occur, followed by pulp inflammation.
• Trauma to the tooth may cause damage of its blood vessels, causing diminished nutrition and pulp inflammation.

Prognosis:
• If not treated it will cause death of the pulp (dead tooth).

Treatment:
• Root Canal Treatment.
