Causes and treatment:
- Gum diseases, which result in bone loss, cause loosening of teeth. Check with your dentist as treatment options vary according to the severity of the disease.
- Accidents or trauma. Visit your dentist to reposition teeth in their original place through splinting.
- Bruxism, or tooth grinding, loosens teeth due to the constant pressure exerted onto them. Night-guards can prevent nighttime bruxism.
- Orthodontic treatment. Teeth will lose their mobility after braces are removed.
- Partial dentures are hooked onto teeth to stay in place; this constant pushing and pulling on the teeth may cause them to become loose. Replacing partial dentures with fixed appliances or dental implants will cure this problem.
- Dental abscess, which is the accumulation of pus at the end of the root, exerts pressure on the tooth. Visit your dentist for a root canal treatment
